Mail hosting at Polar55 is a service that allows you to set up and manage email accounts using your own domain name. With our standard package, you get 10 GB of space for your emails. You have the flexibility to distribute this space among your mailboxes as you prefer. If you don’t need a website and only require email addresses, you can utilize the entire 10 GB for your emails.

Our mail system supports both POP3 and IMAP protocols, as well as SMTP for outgoing emails. We provide guides in our video support section to assist you with the setup process, including configurations for popular email clients like Outlook and Thunderbird.

If you need more space for your mail hosting, you have the option to upgrade to 20 GB, 40 GB or 100 GB. However, most users can manage within the 10 GB limit by occasionally cleaning up their mailboxes. We used to have a catch-all function enabled, but based on customer feedback, we have disabled it. Now, only the emails you choose to keep on the server are stored, especially for those using IMAP configurations.

We recommend choosing IMAP setup for our mail hosting service. With IMAP, a copy of your emails is stored on the server, ensuring you can access them again if your computer experiences issues. In contrast, with POP3, emails are downloaded to your computer, and no copy is saved on the server. Therefore, if something happens to your computer, you won’t be able to retrieve your emails.

Additionally, you have the option to modify your DNS settings to integrate your emails with external systems. Please note that you are responsible for setting up your DNS correctly in such cases.
