In some cases, you as a customer may wish to change your primary domain with us.
However, changing the primary domain is purely cosmetic, as you can very well have an inactive domain, or a domain you no longer use, as the primary domain and still have a web hosting service that works as it should.
If you still want to change your primary domain to something else, it means that a change is made in the structure of your web hosting.
You must therefore approve the content of this article before we can change your primary domain. If you have read this before your support case, please refer to confirming the terms in "Changing the primary domain on your web hosting". If you have not yet approved, we will send a link to you when we receive your request.
- If the domain that is now to be the primary account on your web hosting exists as an addon domain, it must be deleted (the content is lost, so take a backup of all data if it is to be recreated).
- Your public_html folder will be associated with your new primary domain. The content from this will now be shown on the new primary domain and must therefore manually be overwritten with the content from point 1.
- Emails created with the new primary domain will be lost and must be recreated. Emails on the server will be deleted and disappear permanently from the server.
- Emails created with your old primary domain will be changed to the new primary domain.
- The username on your cPanel account cannot be changed and will remain the same
- polar55.com takes no responsibility for any lost data or downtime in connection with changing your account.
Since this change often only has a visual significance and no functional significance, please consider whether you want to go through this change.
Furthermore, since Polar55 will manually change your account, we therefore charge a small fee of 27 EUR incl. VAT. to make the change.
