This guide explains how to transfer a domain to Polar55.
1: Get an Auth / EPP code for the domain
To transfer the domain to us, you need to provide an Auth / EPP code.
An Auth / EPP code is a kind of key that unlocks the domain, allowing it to be transferred. Only the current registrar of the domain can obtain this code, ensuring that the domain cannot be moved by others.
Therefore, before you request the transfer of your .com or .net domain, contact your current web hosting provider and request the Auth / EPP code for the domain.
2: Order the transfer to polar55
Once you have received your Auth / EPP code from your current web hosting provider, you can order the transfer to Polar55. During the ordering process, you will need to provide the Auth / EPP code, so we have it when processing your transfer.
Remember to back up your site from your old provider and save it locally on your computer.
After you have requested the transfer, you must change the nameservers yourself so that the domain points to Polar55. It typically takes up to 24 hours for the nameserver changes to take effect.
Also, remember that you need to move your website to our web hosting service yourself. To minimize downtime, we recommend that you do this as soon as you initiate the transfer.
You can use this guide to set up the domain before the DNS changes propagate.
